FAQs Cabinet Refacing

Do you have a showroom?

We do not have a showroom, as this can add hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars to the cost of your project. When you schedule a free in-home estimate, we bring sample doors and a wide selection of stain and paint colors. Doing this will allow you to see and feel the materials and finish and how everything will look in your kitchen with your countertops, backsplash, and flooring. Give us a call to schedule your free, no-pressure consultation.

Can we add some new cabinets to our refacing project?

We get this question a lot. Is it possible to add new cabinets while doing a refacing project? We add cabinets to many of our projects. Sometimes customers want us to install all new upper cabinets for their project because they have enough room to fit taller boxes. The base cabinets are often in great shape or have a beautiful solid surface countertop that the customer does not want to replace. We can also install a new cabinet when the client buys a larger refrigerator and needs additional height for the appliance to fit correctly. There are times when the customer may want an island installed. In most cases, we can add some new cabinets to a refacing project to add storage space or whatever application may be needed to make the kitchen more functional. The beautiful thing is our cabinet box supplier does not charge us hardly anything more for a non-standard size, so we can get custom-size boxes for little or no additional cost.

Are your wood doors solid wood?

Our raised panel doors are solid wood, and our flat panel doors are a 1/4 inch thick, double-sided, real wood veneer. If you are looking for a shaker door, they are available with solid wood center panels or 1/4 thick real wood veneer panels. Painted doors with raised panels are available with paint-grade center panels or HDF (High-density fiberboard) center panels. The advantage of HDF center panels is that expansion and contraction are less than paint-grade maple. We would be happy to go over the differences with you.

What wood grades are available?

We offer rustic, natural, and select-grade wood grades. Although there are some exceptions, the rustic grade is generally the least expensive, followed by natural, and then select the most expensive. We would be happy to explain the differences in each grade.

Do you offer other doors besides wood?

We offer Thermofoil and TFL Doors.  If you are looking for something specific, let us know.

Do you offer free estimates and consultations?

Yes, we do.

Are you a member of the BBB?

We are a Gold Star member of the BBB with an A+ rating.

Do you do custom stain colors?

We do offer custom stain colors. The charge for this depends on the complexity of the stain color the customer is after. Sometimes, getting a particular look may take additional steps to achieve the desired color. We would be happy to discuss this with you.

Do you offer painted doors?

We do offer painted doors in our standard colors. We can also do custom paint colors for a small upcharge.

Can we mix stained doors with painted doors?

Some customers may want stained doors for most of their kitchens and painted ones for their island. We can do whatever you want, and you can also mix and match the trim.

How long does it take to install a refacing project?

Most kitchens take 3 to 5 days to complete.

Do I need to empty my cabinets?

We recommend you empty the cabinets. A lot of customers look at it as an opportunity to get rid of some useless items they may have had for years and also a chance to reorganize their kitchen. It is possible to do the job just by emptying the drawers, but keeping the dust off items in the cabinets is tough. We will be happy to discuss this with you.

Do you offer a wide variety of door styles?

We offer a vast selection of door styles and can even match or get close to styles people have seen in kitchen showrooms or magazines.
